Designed a funky, digital cross-platform menu focused on delivering an interactive and immersive shopping experience for a coffee shop. This project was developed as a concept where I explored dynamic UI elements, marketing strategies, and user-centric design principles to enhance customer engagement.

This section outlines the step-by-step approach taken to design an interactive digital menu experience for a coffee shop, from research through to final implementation.

Research & Planning

Conducted user research through competitive analysis and interviews with coffee shop customers to uncover preferences and pain points in existing digital menu experiences. Key insights revealed frustrations with cluttered interfaces, uninspiring browsing, and a lack of visual customisation for drinks. These findings guided the feature set and design direction toward a more engaging, intuitive, and visual experience.

Design & Prototyping

Created playful, motion-inspired UI concepts tailored to a coffee shop audience. Prototypes featured dynamic experience, real-time visual customisation (e.g., adjusting coffee strength, milk, or flavours), and highlighted promotions. Iterated based on user feedback to ensure both usability and a visually bold interface that matched the brand’s vibe.

Development & Implementation

Translated high-fidelity designs into a responsive cross-platform experience optimised for both in-store tablets and mobile devices. Integrated AI-powered product suggestions and ensured seamless user flows from browsing to order customisation. The final product delivered a funky, high-energy menu that improved both customer satisfaction and sales engagement.

The resulting digital menu app delivers a seamless, engaging user experience that allows customers to effortlessly browse, customise, and manage their coffee orders in an intuitive and delightful way.

Product-Focused Navigation

Introduced a horizontal drag menu to showcase coffee options in detail, enabling users to focus on one product at a time within a clean, minimal interface. A “View All” toggle provides flexibility by allowing users to switch to a gallery-style layout when desired.

AI-Powered Personalised Recommendations

Designed a personalised banner card that recommends products based on users’ past orders. This allows customers to quickly reorder their favourites with minimal effort, streamlining the journey and reinforcing a sense of thoughtful, user-first design.

Customisation with Real-Time Visual Feedback

On the customisation page, users can build their perfect coffee through playful, interactive animations. As sugar, milk, or topping levels are adjusted, the coffee visual updates instantly — offering clear feedback and gamifying the experience.

Smart Food Pairing Recommendations

Before checkout, users are offered personalised food pairing suggestions based on their selected drink. I designed this feature using a rotating carousel (inspired by a circular wheel) to encourage quick, intuitive exploration and upselling.

Order Summary & Live Tracking

The order summary screen highlights the estimated delivery time at the top to directly address customer expectations. To bridge the gap between the digital and physical experience, I designed the summary using a real-receipt style aesthetic — enhancing familiarity and brand cohesion.
